Hand-thrown everyday pottery from Arnstadt in Thuringia: Annett Hopfe throws every piece herself, paints it by hand with slip and fires it at 1,200 °C using green electricity and solar power. She also runs pottery courses for all ages.

Annett Hopfe completed her apprenticeship as a potter in Naumburg in 1989. Since then she has been making everyday tableware in her small workshop in Arnstadt – traditional craft with a signature of her own. For some years now she has been passing on her knowledge in pottery courses for children, teenagers and adults.
The range runs from mugs and bowls to vases and plates. Seven different patterns are available, painted and incised by hand with slip. Everything is fired at 1,200 °C, resulting in sturdy stoneware for everyday use.
The Töpfergarage sits in Arnstadt, Thuringia. Firing runs on green electricity and solar power, because sustainability is part of how this small workshop works. Visitors can watch Annett at the wheel during the annual open pottery day.
