Die Seifenmanufaktur began in 2005 with an idea that came to Elke Simmel and Karin Huber while on holiday. Their enthusiasm for fine fragrances quickly evolved into a clear business concept. For taking the brave step into self-employment, the two founders received the Frankfurter Gründerpreis in 2009 and the Hessischer Gründerpreis in 2010.
The range includes over 250 products for everyday bathing rituals. These include handmade aroma soaps, exfoliating bars, soap cupcakes, as well as solid shampoos, shower gels, and scented candles. Recipes are developed in close collaboration with small European partners who craft the ideas by hand. A core principle is offering products with minimal packaging.
The business combines Hessen-inspired creations, such as dedicated Ebbelwei products, with artisanal manufacturing in Europe. Since its early days, the company has built reliable partnerships with workshops that carefully pour and craft each soap design. Awarded in Hessen, the online shop delivers directly to customers.
