The people

Designers and workshops from Japan

Behind the platform is the Tokyo-based company FOUR DESIGN. The collection brings together work by Japanese designers such as OJI Masanori, Chikako, INOUE Hiroyuki, and YAMAZAKI Yoshiki with traditional craft skills. Working in close collaboration with workshops including DAIYO, TAKADA, SUSUMUYA, and JICON, they create carefully crafted everyday objects. Everyone involved shares an eye for understated forms and manufacturing built to last.

The product

Artisan objects for home and daily life

The range spans tableware and homeware through to stationery, furniture, and decorative accessories. It includes rice and sumac wax candles by DAIYO, alongside teapots, teacups, and matcha accessories from SUSUMUYA. TAKADA crafts brushes, tawashi scrubbers, and brooms by hand from natural materials for the kitchen and cleaning. Aromatic incense, delicate wooden vases by akarino-tane, and Santoku knives complete the collection.

The place

Rooted in Meguro-ku

IFJ Trading is based in the Nakacho neighbourhood of Tokyo's Meguro-ku district. From the Japanese capital, wares from various partner workshops are brought together. The associated craft studios and manufacturers are scattered across Japan, each drawing on their own regional traditions.
