Organic roastery on the Baltic coast for highland coffee, rare cocoa and lupin and grain coffee as caffeine-free alternatives.
„Those who find us, like what they find."
The people
Michelle and Marcel Rost
Behind LandDelikat are Michelle and Marcel Rost, who have run their organic roastery since 2009. What began as a small idea on the Baltic coast has now grown for more than 15 years. The two see their products as ambassadors for fairness along the entire value chain. Valuable knowledge and fresh interpretations are the ground on which their variety of flavours grows. Every delicacy carries their love of traditional craft and their respect for people and nature.
The product
Roasting with the courage for a niche
At the heart are organic highland coffees, rare cocoa and local coffee alternatives. A purpose-built drum roaster brings out the roasting details of every raw material and highlights its character. Alongside coffee it can also handle lupins, ancient grains and cocoa beans - the courage for a niche, as the roastery calls it. Lupin and grain coffee are the caffeine-free local alternatives: unsweetened, vegan and surprisingly tasty. Natural sugars and spices for coffee and cocoa round out the range.
The place
Between Barth and Altenpleen
The roastery works in Western Pomerania: production sits on Nelkenstrasse in Barth, while the family business is registered in Altenpleen by the Bodden lagoon. The door is open Tuesday to Friday, and on Fridays "Handwerk ERLEBEN" offers a look at the work on the roasting machine. Seeing farming and wilderness as friends shapes the choice of raw materials: for LandDelikat, a broad range of species reflects the vitality of the landscape - and with it the quality in the cup.
