Family chocolate maker from the Dauphiné: artisanal chocolate, pralines and confectionery made in Chimilin since 1906.
„Since 1906 in the Dauphiné: one family, one workshop, a palette of flavours."
The people
Five generations of chocolate
The chocolate works began in 1906 at the foot of the Chartreuse massif: founder Amédée Arnaud des Essarts first sold milk and butter to Lyon, then brought five Swiss chocolatiers to the hamlet of Marlieu. In 1939 his son-in-law Edmond de Parscau took over; today the fifth family generation is ready.
The product
Bars, Malakoff and confectionery
Everything is made with pure cocoa butter couverture: bars from Papua New Guinea to Guatemala, Ruby and intense dark, plus Malakoffs, langues de chat, berlingots and organic, sugar-free and gluten-free lines. Sold straight from the factory shop and online, never in supermarkets.
The place
Chimilin in the Dauphiné
The workshop sits in Chimilin above La Tour-du-Pin, between the Chartreuse massif and Savoy. Visitors can book a guided tour with tasting and shop at the factory store.
