Münchs Backstube
The people

A family tradition in its second generation

In 1995, Christian and Ria Münch took over the long-established bakery in Leisnig and thoroughly modernised the business. Their son Jens Münch joined the management team in 2011, running the family company alongside the founding generation. Today, around 120 employees take care of the artisan baking and retail. Beyond their craft, the team actively contributes to local community life with readings and charity fundraisers.

The product

Fresh variety from an artisan bakery

The range includes more than 500 varieties of fresh, house-made baked goods and confectionery. Following traditional recipes, breads, rolls, pastries, snacks and delicate patisserie are prepared fresh every day. The flour comes from grain harvested in the surrounding farming regions. At its second production site, the bakery also produces confectionery and ice cream for its own branches.

The place

Rooted in Leisnig and Radebeul

The business dates back to 1900, when the local consumer co-operative built the production premises in Leisnig that are still used today. In 2003, the company expanded with a second production facility in Radebeul near Dresden, paired with a café in the Viennese coffee house style. Today, these two hubs supply 21 specialist shops and three cafés in the region. The bakeries and shops also regularly serve as venues for local events.
